Synopsis: “The first time I returned to Lancaster was for my brother’s funeral.
The second time was for Myra.”
For twelve years, I lived alone in my cabin, building a life with my two bare hands. I was free from their rules, their policies, and their lies.
They are a cult.
My father is their leader.
To protect my brother’s widow, I’m making her my wife. It’s her only way out.
But drawn to the purity in her deep blue eyes and the innocence of her gentle voice, I wonder if I’m not the biggest monster of them all. I have to save her from them and myself. Because every second I spend with this timid woman, I fight the urge to claim her.
Make her truly mine.
And I know it’s wrong.
I will break her fall—if I don’t break her first.
Three 🎩🎩🎩 Hats from Britt
Break My Fall was definitely not what I expected. From the blurb I was expecting something grittier, more raw, and highly emotional. Not that this wasn’t an emotional read, it definitely had its moments of hitting you in the feels. But this book was a surprisingly sweet slow burn. Filled with more learning and growing while slowly falling than the sizzling heat I usually go for. This slow burn builds into a shocking twist that leaves you on edge for what’s to come and itching to get your hands on the next book.
Three ⭐️⭐️⭐️ from Ari
Break My Fall had my attention at the blurb. It sold me as dark, thriller, and slightly taboo, but took me completely by surprise giving me a more emotional and intensely slow burn romance. Despite my slight disappointment at the change in tone, I loved the connection between Myra and Abraham. The character building by M. Mabie is stellar. She really takes her time showing the reader who these characters are and what they’re made of. Watching their bond develop grow was like watching a flame flicker to life and it worked for the story. Being the first book in a trilogy I’m happy to know there will be more, especially after that ending, anxious to see where the story takes us. Three stars.
