About the Book

Hangry: adjective—feeling irritable or irrationally angry as a result of being hungry.

Sometimes, Crockett felt that in her soul.

And, of course, the one time that she’s being ‘irrationally angry’ would be the time that the hottest guy on the continent walked into her place of business dressed in prison orange.

She should’ve been afraid.

She should’ve taken one look at him and walked the other way.

But, she didn’t.

Crockett Archer, better known as a doormat extraordinaire, didn’t walk away from the people she knew needed her. She’d never been able to do it with a father that didn’t love her, and she wouldn’t be able to do it with a man that didn’t think he deserved a chance at love.

One look is all it takes for Zach Caruso to know that Crockett could be his.

All he would have to do is snap his fingers, and she’d fall right into the palm of his hand.

Which is why Zach turns around and walks far, far away.

He tries not to look back.

He tries to leave her be.

But then he sees how she’s treated by the people that are supposed to love her, and all cognitive thoughts seem to flee his rational brain.

One second, he’s running in the opposite direction. The next, he’s playing her knight in dingy armor.

God help her.

5 Star Britt

Gen Pop hit my kindle and I was on this book faster than you can blink. I was like a starving woman and Gen Pop was a buffet of all my favorite things placed before me…I was devouring it. For starters, I’ve always enjoyed Crockett from the moments we’ve seen her in previous books in the series, and I’ve definitely been just a little bit head over heels for Zach for a while so I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book, but what really made me fly through the pages was the story itself. As she always does, Lani Lynn Vale delivered a book that went well beyond my expectations.
Crockett is a character that is easy to love, she’s a sweetheart with sass, but when you get to see all she’s been going through with her family you’ll be ready to go to war for her. Strong is just not a big enough word for all she is. Then you have Zach, who is exactly the man you think Cleo’s son would be. Even trying to keep his distance you could still feel that protective, caring side of him when it came to Crockett. And don’t even get me started on the sparks between these two! They were made for each other and that connection radiated off the pages.
