Author: Cora Brent
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 9, 2019

Emblem, Arizona.
Not a place people dreamed of moving to.
More like a place people escaped from.
Known for its barren desert and the state’s largest prison, it had been home to my family for generations. Now the town’s name is a curse to them. And yet I’ve always wondered about it.
By the time I finished college I had big plans.
I was going to pack up and move to Emblem. I would teach at Emblem High. I would see past the crime and poverty that the town was infamous for. I would make a difference.
Tristan Mulligan never figured into my plans at all.
He was a small time criminal with a bad attitude who’d never bothered to graduate from high school. Worse, he didn’t seem interested in changing any of that. He was also the sexiest guy I’d ever laid eyes on.
I knew better than to start something with him. I did it anyway.
Tristan might break my heart. He might shatter my future. And there’s something dangerously explosive about the way we are together.
You can warn me about him all you want.
Everyone else has.
I haven’t listened yet. And I never will.
Whether I’m ready to admit it or not, I’m already his.

FIVE 🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩 hats from Britt!

Back to Emblem! It was like visiting the past for me reading this book. Reminding me of the first time years ago when I fell in love with the Gentry boys. Now we get to journey back with Cord and Saylor’s daughter who has returned to her parents hometown as a teacher at their former high school. Not much has changed from the past when it comes to Emblem, other than things continuing to go downhill.

Cadence sticks out like a sore thumb with the kindness she radiates and the desire she has to make an impact on the lives of her students. Tristan is her complete opposite. Worn down by life like much of the town. He’s pretty much reached the point of accepting a life of crime, violence and without much love. But with Cadence now in the picture an the attraction between them blooming into something much more than the physical all of that begins to change. The truly good man who’s been hiding inside starts to make more and more appearances until the real Tristan is all that you can see.

Cadence and Tristan are so freaking sweet! The start of their relationship and the build up of their sexual chemistry will have you fanning yourself! These two may seem like the complete opposites, but in reality they fit so well with each other. Cadence with her positivity and dream to help as many students as she can. Tristan with his bad boy image and not really caring about others opinions. He has a chip on his shoulder but Cadence shows she is more than willing to help knock it off. This huge family is a powerhouse of support and love. Tristan and Cadence have that at their back and each other through the rest.

Tristan was a sweet and sexy read that gives a little light to small town troubles and problems.

Cora Brent was born in a cold climate and escaped as soon as it was legally possible. Now, she lives in the desert with her husband, two kids and a prickly pear cactus she has affectionately named ‘Spot’. Cora’s closet is filled with boxes of unfinished stories that date back her 1980’s childhood and all her life she has dreamed of being an author. Amazingly, she is now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling writer of contemporary romance and begs not to be awakened from this dream.
