BLURB:

She’s forbidden.

Too young, too pure, and not mine.

I’ll break all the rules to be with her.

She belongs to me, even if she doesn’t know it yet.

He’s taboo.

Too old, too experienced, and my stepfather.

I’ll cross every line to be with him.

He’s not mine, and never will be.

It’s not about the danger of what’s forbidden,

it’s about the pleasure we get from it.

All consequences be damned.

REVIEW:

Holy freaking crap. What did I just read? Mind officially blown. Firsts by C. L. Matthews serves up a naughty, dirty, taboo story about love between a young girl and her stepfather that will have you squirming with the turn of each page.

Firsts follows the torrid love affair between Leia and her stepfather Silas. With him she experiences first love, first heartbreak, and first hate. I found Leia to come off as a tad annoying at times, but what young adolescent isn’t? Silas’ lust for her is all consuming and yet I didn’t find it predatory or feel like it was wrong. It felt like an all consuming and unavoidable connection between two people with seriously screwed up circumstances. It’s a love story that I shouldn’t have been rooting for or devouring each page like I was starved for words, but absolutely I did! I loved every single dirty, depraved, and oh so delicious moment of it.

If you’re into taboo, insanely sexy writing, and can handle a cliffhanger ending then run and pick up Firsts. It’s so delicious you won’t be able to set it down until you’ve devoured every single word C. L. Mathews gives you.

Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Lacy Lauren BLEW. MY. MIND! Aaron Shedlock was incredible. No one else could have personified Silas as perfectly as he did. And oh my god that accent. Especially during a certain ‘thigh’ scene. I almost spontaneously caught fire. Whoa. Lacy Laurel was also great. She does a wonderful job of infusing into Leia the right amounts of angsty, innocent young girl and sinful Lolita. Together they take an already fantastic story to a whole other level of awesome. I need he next book ASAP. 5 Stars.
