Whew! Talk about an emotional journey! Rectify had me doing everything from crying to swooning on practically every page. There was just so much from both the last and the present all twisted around together in Sasha and Jay’s story. Between the complex family dynamics and the history that existed between everyone along there wasn’t a single moment that didn’t have me glued to the pages.
There’s so much more to Sasha than meets the eye. She’s spent her entire life sacrificing for the happiness of others and always putting herself last. My heart hurt for her reading this and seeing everything through her eyes. Without even realizing it most of the people in her life always put her feelings last and rarely even acknowledged how much she put everyone ahead of herself. When Jay comes back in to the picture he seems to be the only one that sees what everyone else is blind to.
Jay himself is not saint though. With his own cruel actions towards Sasha back when they were teenagers he had to work twice as hard to get through the walls she had. Once those walls crumble though all bets are off. He’s so loving, so thoughtful and not to mention so freaking hot. As things grow between them and Sasha becomes more aware of her own value emotions run high and things begin to shift in more than just their relationship.
