New Release + Double Review: My Bad by Lani Lynn Vale

Hoax knows two things very well.

One, he’s not relationship material. Two, the nurse that treats him for erectile dysfunction is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, and practically has ‘the marrying type’ stamped on her forehead.

Does that stop him from wanting her? No.

Unfortunately, he learned a long time ago that Army Delta Force and long-lasting relationships don’t go hand in hand.

But beautiful hazel eyes, curly blonde hair, and the prettiest lips he’s ever seen play havoc with his resolve, making him forget his earlier convictions.

All it takes is one teeny, tiny kiss for every shred of control he has to disappear, along with the problem in his pants.

Soon he finds himself doing things that he knows that he shouldn’t. He doesn’t know that he’s found the woman that’s meant to be his. Nor does he realize that her father is the man he’s idolized from the moment he joined the army at the age of eighteen. Because, maybe if he had, he would’ve tried a little harder to ignore the pull he felt between them instead of making her his the night before he deployed for six months.

He also might’ve tried a little harder not to knock her up.

I just have to say, every time one of the kids from Free gets a book I’m always doing a happy dance. I fell in love with Lani Lynn Vale’s writing years ago with Boomtown, so seeing Pru get her book was like going back to the very first time I discovered my favorite author. That said Pru and Hoax have a story that shot right up to being one of my all time favorites all on their own. With moments that had my hysterically laughing to moments that completely stole my heart My Bad is one of the best books in this series! Also, my favorite bean dip was mentioned so, like, all the bonus points for that. But I will say I’ve made improvements to that recipe, so Lani hit me up for the details 😉😂
All joking (not really, add a can of rotel, top it with Mexican cheese blend, and bake at 350 instead of the microwave. TRUST ME.) aside Pru and Hoax stole my heart almost immediately while they had me crying laughing. Hoax is absolutely divine and when I wasn’t giggling my heart was melting, along with other things, from just how wonderful and hot he is. Him and Pru have a connection from the second they meet, but Pru definitely makes him work for it in the start.
Pru reminded me so much of her mother while still being her own unique person. With plenty of sass, expert level sarcasm, and a heart of gold she was flat out fun to read. This is yet another totally addictive read that will leave you with a giant smile.

I feel repetitive writing reviews for LLV’s books. Each and every one is amazing. My Bad is no different. Hoax and Pru remind me a lot of Sam and Cheyenne, which is a good thing. I love seeing those two and the family they made, now making families of their own. Pru is hilarious, she has the same personality of her mom and dad combined. I love how easy going she is, and how she just doesn’t care about anything that’s not in her direct sight. Hoax is super yummy in his caveman protective ways. The way he loves and the way he doesn’t deny his feelings is refreshing to see. These two put hot and hilarity together so well!

As always, I find myself lost within the pages. I love these Bear Bottom boys as much as my Dixie Wardens. LLV has created a huge family that I want to be a part of. Hoax and Pru just add to that beautiful family.
