Miles’s betrayal, I can’t help but open my doors for her.
Carter and Avery have been friends since they were kids. Just friends. Despite each having feelings for the other, Carter is the one who is most certain of his, they always remain strictly in the friend zone. Until one day they’re all grown up and Avery is engaged…to another man. Now Carter must decide if he lets the love of his life go or if he shows his best friend that they’re so much more.
This story was freaking adorable! I really liked both Avery and Carter, but Carter owned my heart from start to finish! It was refreshing to see be hero be the one completely head over feet in love for a change. Plus, the man is a hot as fudge baseball player on top of everything m. My bookworm heart never stood a chance! I really enjoyed the friends to lovers plot play out. There’s nothing I love more than seeing a hero fight for his girl and Carter goes all out.
This story was sweet romance at its best! A great combination of sports and friends-to-lovers romance with a big spoonful of swoon largely thanks to the drool-inducing hero. Megan Green knocks it out of the park with The Rival and I can’t wait for more. 5 Stars.
