Audiobook Review: Dirty Headlines

Dirty Headlines by L.J. shen

Narration: Jacob Morgan, Grace Grant

Célian Laurent.
Manhattan royalty.
Notorious playboy.
Heir to a media empire.
…And my new boss.

I could have impressed him, if not for last month’s unforgettable one-night stand.
I left it with more than orgasms and a pleasant memory–namely, his wallet.
Now he’s staring me down like I’m the dirt under his Italian loafers, and I’m supposed to take it.
But the thing about being Judith “Jude” Humphry is I have nothing to lose.
Brooklyn girl.
Infamously quirky.
Heir to a stack of medical bills and a tattered couch.
When he looks at me from across the room, I see the glint in his eyes, and that makes us rivals.
He knows it.
So do I.
Every day in the newsroom is a battle.
Every night in his bed, war.
But it’s my heart at stake, and I fear I’ll be raising the white flag.

Ay, Dios mio, no puedo! Me Muero! (Oh my God, I can’t! I die!) Yes, I broke out the Spanish because all the feels L. J. Shen has given me can’t be contained in one language.

Célian is the perfect hero. Yes, he is! He’s got everything I love in a book boyfriend, he’s sexy, ruthless, and that mouth…LAWD! It’s filthy and I wanted more of it. Jude is just amazing. The chick has sass for days and great freaking taste in music. Strong and loyal and rocks Chucks like a boss and that‘s always a plus in my book. She gives as good as Célian gives which drove him crazy and made me love her even more. The chemistry is explosive between these two. Whether it’s in the bedroom or the boardroom this couple’s connection is magnetic and electric. The sexual tension is intense and dripped off each page. The banter is fantastic and had me snickering and flipping the pages as fast as I could devour all the words. This is now my favorite book of hers. (Don’t tell Dean!)

With Dirty Headlines we get a much lighter side of L. J. Shen’s writing and I loved it. Still deliciously sexy, incredibly witty, nonstop fun, and relentlessly consuming it’s everything I want in a five star romance and more. So much more.

Reading the book was fun, but listening to Jacob Morgan and Grace Grant narrate was EVERYTHING. Jacob Morgan speaking as Célian had me fanning myself, laughing out loud, bitting my lip, and ordering new undergarments on Amazon. (Ladies, grab a towel!) That French accent is worth the full price of the audio alone! Then we have Grace Grant who is amazing as Jude! There’s no one I want to ever hear having a fight with Jesus more than her. (Listen to the audiobook lol.) Seriously though, her ability to seamless switch between characters is why she’s one of my favorite narrators and just perfect for this book. 10 points to Gryffindor for whoever cast this audiobook! ALL THE DAMN STARS.
