Running into an ex you haven’t seen in nearly a decade is never a good
Running into your ex while he’s arresting you is humiliating.
The handcuffs close around my fists at the same time he promises to
hate me until he takes his last breath.
I can’t blame him. He pleaded for me not to walk away.  He doesn’t know leaving him broke my heart as
much as it did his.
It wasn’t for me. Rather, it was for someone else.
I skipped town after Hurricane Lauren obliterated my heart.
Coming home was a hard choice to make. Arresting her isn’t.
She has no idea of the demons I carry with me now. No idea that I’m a
new man.
Two women ruined me.
One I gave my heart to.
The other punished me for it.
Julia’s 🎩🎩🎩🎩 hat review:
Just Exes is an emotional, heart wrenching story about second chances and healing. Charity Ferrell blew me away with Lauren and Gage’s story. Lauren and Gage have a past. Both loved each other in the past, one left the other. Lauren will never let her love for Gage go even though she broke his heart years ago. Gage wants to hate Lauren, but can’t stop loving her long enough to do it. When they finally see each other again it’s volatile, hot, sad, and different. Gage has some secrets he won’t tell anyone about, Lauren has a secret that isn’t hers to tell and refuses to confide in Gage. It makes for some emotional reading that leaves you so happy when they get their HEA.

Lauren is tough and I loved that about her. She deals with Gage and his jerk behavior so well. She hurts for him and wants him but is scared to go back there. Gage is a broken man now, he isn’t the same guy he was before. He captures your heart quickly because it’s easy to see through his jerk ways. Both were so determined to hate the other and not show their true feelings.

I loved this book a lot! I do think the secrets and the drama drug out a little too long but I still enjoyed it immensely!
