Julia’s 🎩🎩🎩 hat review:
Heartless was a bit slower than Merciless and left me feeling a bit disappointed. I was so excited to see Aria transform after the last scene of Merciless. She didn’t. She came across as far more broken than anything and I end up not liking her. Carter is still holding a lot of secrets back from her and I felt like Carter lost a bit of his edge in this book. He wasn’t as hard in this one and I hated seeing him lose his way because of how broken Aria is.
The issues, while understandable, were such big parts of the characters this time around I found myself unable to really connect to them. It seemed more a focus on their problems than on the romance between them. Despite that I still was able to enjoy other parts of the story and continue on.
As the war is now a sure thing I expect loyalties to be tested and the real villains finally showing themselves. I do want to see what comes next, I just hope Aria finds her backbone and stands on her own. Just as I hope Carter turns his heart off again.
Willow Winters is so happy to be a USA Today, Wall Street Journal and #1 Contemporary Bestselling Romance Author. She likes her action hot and her bad boys hotter. She certainly doesn’t hold back on either one in her writing!Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
