New Release + Review: The Rainmaker by Petra Landon

The Rainmaker (Saga of The Chosen Book Two) by Petra Landon

🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩 hats from Julia!

Julia’s Review:

Petra Landon once again wisks us away to a world you never want to leave. The Rainmaker has all my favorite things that make up Urban Fantasy. A world within ours, fantastical beings, and a hint of wonder. Petra’s writing makes me wonder if this world could really exist out there without us knowing. I have been looking forward to The Rainmaker since I finished The Prophecy. I wasn’t let down. Tasia has so many secrets and I wonder if we will ever find out all of them. In this book more of her parentage is revealed as they try to rush and stop a war coming that Lady Bethesda is wanting to start. Intrigue around every corner, I wasn’t sure who to trust.

I get so lost in this world that everything around me fades away and I’m completely invested in these wonderful characters. The writing sucks you in and doesn’t let go until you look around bleary eyed wondering what day it is. I could curl up inside this book and live there. There were a few times the mystery and intrigue had me gasping. A lot of things I didn’t see coming. Just all in all this is such a great series to get lost in. Sometimes I’m not sure if I even want to leave the world!

Tasia and Raoul’s relationship changes in this book as well. I won’t lie, I was a bit worried. Raoul is still a bit of a mystery to me as is Tasia. We get some questions answered in this book, yet we end up with more at the end. I’m biting my nails waiting to see how the next book will go. I found myself reluctant to finish this book as I wanted to drag it out as much as possible. I’m dying to know more! Great addition to this series! I will be stalking Petra Landon more than ever now!

The Rainmaker book 2 in the Chosen Saga series by Petra Landon is LIVE!!!

Tasia Armstrong is no longer a friendless Wizard on the fringes of San Francisco’s Chosen community. Publicly entwined with a powerful Shifter Pack, she must navigate the minefield of Pack politics and Chosen intrigue, while guarding her secrets from the Magicks who hunt her. With a Pack to defend her, a powerful Alpha to protect her interests, and friends to watch her back, her life is a far cry from before. But though living with the Shifters proves challenging for a Chosen more used to the shadows, it is the investigation that poses the greatest threat to Tasia.

The stakes have never been higher as old fault lines, long-buried secrets, Wizard dysfunction, and Lady Bethesda’s machinations draw the Chosen ever closer to a civil war. While Tasia grapples to avoid the pitfalls and confront her demons, an unlikely nemesis forces her to face her moment of truth. Tasia finds herself at the crossroads – at stake are her carefully constructed house of cards and her tangled relationship with the man who holds her enemies at bay. Will Tasia risk opening Pandora’s Box or will she walk away from her friends to disappear into the shadows again?

Author’s Note : Saga of the Chosen is an urban fantasy tale of intrigue, adventure, mystery and romance. The Rainmaker continues the story from The Prophecy. The books are not standalone and are intended to be read in order.
The story continues with Book 3 – The Siren.

About the author

An avid reader all her life, only recently has Petra allowed her own imagination to run riot. She loves to travel, loves the outdoors and reads everything she can get her hands on, time permitting. Her taste in books is very eclectic – she tends to like stories with vivid and quirky characters, and with elements of fantasy, adventure, romance and mystery interspersed together. A good book for her is one that makes the reader think long after it has been finished and set aside. And one that draws the reader back to it, again and again.
Stories have swirled in her head for years. To share the characters and tales that have lived in her imagination for so long is a labor of love and a lifelong dream come true for her.
