Julia’s 🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩 hat review!
I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into with When Sinners Kneel. I just knew the cover and blurb had me hooked right away. I’m so glad I read it! The unique and original world being built was awe-inspiring. From page one I was swept away in this story and didn’t put it down for a second. When Sinners Kneel is a tragic, broken, dark, addictive love story that will draw you in and not let go. I can’t get over the writing, I truly enjoyed it and it wove a net around me that had me trapped in this story.
Lex is a lower class demon who is friends with a higher class demon, who just happens to run the area they live in. She knows of Beau and knows to stay away but only thing she cares about is finding her friend who went missing after going into the dark sin-filled place known as the Pit. Beau is nothing but a vicious dark demon. After learning his lesson on falling in love, only things he cares about is belladonna(drugs), sex, and fighting. He’s pissed when he sees his little brother’s friend, Lex, in the Pit. What comes from this encounter is dark, sinful, addictive, and corrupt. But oh so beautiful.
I felt like I was on a high reading this, it had me that sucked in. I could feel the atmosphere R. Scarlett created in the Pit. I could taste the depravity and sin. My heart was beating too fast at times in this book. I was thoroughly immersed in this world and the danger it seeped. Bravo to R. Scarlett for making me completely lose my head in this book. For completely making me fall in love with this dark and addictive world. I can already tell you now I’m diving back in from page one today so I can get lost once again.
R. Scarlett lives in a small quaint town in Southern Ontario, Canada and has an unhealthy obsession with mythology and romance.
From studying English literature and minoring in History, she loves losing herself in a good book and snuggling up to her Brittany Spaniel.
When she’s not writing or plotting a delicious novel, she can be found hanging out with friends and family, going on long car rides, exploring small towns, or watching reruns of Sex and the City.
