New Release + Review: Careless by Michelle Heard(Horst)

FIVE 🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩 hats from Britt!

I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for this book since I finished the previous book in the series. I fell in love with all these characters before and fell even deeper while reading Careless. Michelle Heard(Horst) has created a close knit family of friends that pulls you in further and further with each additional book to this series. I swear I’m addicted to them! They’re that good!

Jaxon and Leigh were an amazing couple. Going all the way into the past when they first meet the instant chemistry had sparks flying between them. The love/hate flirtation they kept going until ultimately crashing had me glued to the pages. Beneath all the sarcastic banter was something much bigger they both tried to deny. I loved getting that full history between them before they came together once again.

Once these two are brought together again they’re one of the sweetest couples ever. Jaxon having grown up so much in their years apart is now a strong, kindhearted man determined to win back the only woman he’s ever loved. While Leigh is still the same wickedly intelligent woman she was before, she’s also matured into someone with a huge heart that you can’t help but adore. Adding in her friends to this already close knit group and you’ve got a recipe for an incredible story!

Keeping things spoiler free, if you’ve read the previous book, get ready for some answers and all the feels that come with them. Michelle does not leave us hanging (thank god). My emotions were all over the place reading this. I cried, I laughed, I swooned, and I finished it smiling ear to ear.

Irony – when life f@cks you over.

She’s the one girl I can’t forget.
as innocent as a saint, with the mouth of a sinner.
taking her virginity, it’s taken me four years to get rid of the guilt.
d her while she was at her lowest and she’s never forgiven me.
ing my best friend die a little every day, and not being able to do anything about it, kills me.
uld’ve seen it coming. The second I hit rock bottom, she walks back into my life.
@cking irony?
ight be the only one who can save Marcus.
ife of the person who means the most to me lies in the palm of the girl I screwed.

Hate is a strong word, but it’s one I’ve really considered when it comes to Jaxson West. But I’ve settled for intensely disliking him. It’s similar to the way I feel about visiting the dentist.
g me to forgive Jaxson, is like asking me to willingly sit through a root canal.
heartbreakingly gorgeous, emphasis on heartbreakingly.
an amazing friend, just not to me.
supportive, understanding, caring and loving, just not to me.
or me he reserves his dark scowls and low growls.
do everything I can to save Marcus, but I’m not doing it for Jaxson.

Jaxson West & Leigh Baxter ~ Book 3 in the Enemies To Lovers Series

This is a Stand Alone book in the Enemies To Lovers Series. Each book in the series is about a different couple. To get the full experience of their friendship I’d recommend that you start with Heartless.
