Awkward. by Lily Kate
🎩🎩🎩.5 hats from Julia!
Awkward was an adorably sweet read with tons of awkward moments thrown in. Awkward is a slow burn romance with plenty of comedy. Jack wants to settle down, but he’s got a problem. He’s awkward on dates and has wine thrown on him more than he’d like to admit. Enter Allie, his bubbly and fun best friend. She decides to school him on romance and help him find love. Only a big problem stands in their way. They are both in love with each other, but neither will admit it to themselves or each other.
This was definitely a slower paced book. The romance and chemistry build up until you are about to explode. I may have yelled a few times “Tell her! Tell him!” . When they do finally come together it great! They have already shown us throughout the book that they had amazing chemistry. Jack and Allie have the perfect start to an incredible relationship, friendship. They are the best of friends and I hate it took so long for them to realize they could be more incredible as a couple. Once they found their way though it was more than obvious from everyone they knew it would happen, even those who didn’t want it to happen. This book will definitely have you sighing while looking for your own Mr. Darcy.

friend, romance fanatic Allie Jenkins, has declared that she’s swooping in to
save the day. She’s prepared a list of required reading straight from The
Ripped Bodice, and I’m supposed to take notes, learn from the best, and put
that shit into action. After all, practice makes perfect, right?
