Easy for Keeps: A Boudreaux Novella by Kristen Proby
FIVE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from Ari
Narration: Rachel Fulginiti, Sebastian York
Length: 2 hrs, 44 mins
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby comes a new story in her Boudreaux series…
Adam Spencer loves women. All women. Every shape and size, regardless of hair or eye color, religion or race, he simply enjoys them all. Meeting more than his fair share as the manager and head bartender of The Odyssey, a hot spot in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, Adam’s comfortable with his lifestyle, and sees no reason to change it. A wife and kids, plus the white picket fence are not in the cards for this confirmed bachelor. Until a beautiful woman, and her sweet princess, literally knock him on his ass.
Sarah Cox has just moved to New Orleans, having accepted a position as a social worker specializing in at-risk women and children. It’s a demanding, sometimes dangerous job, but Sarah is no shy wallflower. She can handle just about anything that comes at her, even the attentions of one sexy Adam Spencer. Just because he’s charmed her daughter, making her think of magical kingdoms with happily ever after, doesn’t mean that Sarah believes in fairy tales. But the more time she spends with the enchanting man, the more he begins to sway her into believing in forever.
Even so, when Sarah’s job becomes more dangerous than any of them bargained for, will she be ripped from Adam’s life forever?
Oh, dear Lord, I am sucker for the single-parent trope and Easy for Keeps made my tummy flutter and my heart skip a few beats.
Adam is a bartender/bar owner who isn’t shy or at all apologetic about playing the dating field. He’s in no hurry to settle down, but also hasn’t been partaking in his usual playboy ways. Sara Cox is a single mother to her daughter, Hailey. Widowed three years prior, she has since moved to New Orleans and her job as a social worker and her daughter take up all her time and attention. When Sara finds herself and Hailey unexpectedly being rescued by Adam sparks fly and she can’t deny the strong attraction they have for one another. Sara doesn’t feel ready for a relationship and Adam is a ‘love them a leave them’ kind of guy so they decide to embark on a fling. Except maybe it might turn out to be for keeps.
Gah! Kristen Proby never fails to deliver a super sweet story with punches of adorable and whole lot of sexy! Add in a super hot alpha hero and strong, independent heroine, an adorable little five year old, and you have a novella you won’t want to end. A perfect addition to the Boudreaux series.
Narration by Sebastian York and Rachel Fulginity was outstanding. I’ve listened to Rachel’s performances of he rest of the Boudreaux series and this was probably my favorite audio. I prefer her without the NOLA accent. Sebastian York. What can I say? The man can narrate a toothpaste commercial and make it sexy, but his narration of Adam and Hailey’s interactions had my ovaries in overdrive! Now that’s sexy! The chemistry between both narrators was great and their performances amazing as always. 5 stars.
